Recently, AsiaLink Travel has received e-mails from international visitors expressing their concerns over Vietnam’s protests and civil unrest that may affect travelers’ planned itinerary and safety.
We would like to confirm that although there have been violent protests in industrial parks in 2 provinces Binh Duong and Ha Tinh of Vietnam, the situation in Hanoi, Halong Bay, Saigon and other tourist attracting provinces and cities remains stable. There has been no report about violence happening in any other part of the country and it has been officially informed by the government at an international press conference that the situation in the 2 provinces mentioned above is totally under control. Our government is doing its best to increase safety and security all over the country, especially in the capital city of Hanoi & Saigon.
Please be noted that troubles in Vietnam you may read about was very unusual and a long way away from any place that tourists would be. Everything is under controlled and stable now. Hanoi, Saigon, Halong, Hue, Hoian, Nha Trang, Mekong Delta… and other tourist destinations are safe for tourists including Asian travelers, especially, Southeast Asian nationals.
In Hanoi, the latest public demonstration in May 11 was conducted in an absolutely safe and lawful manner. There has been no disturbance to daily activities. All the tourist sites and supporting services operate normally as per their schedules. AsiaLink Travel took numerous tours and cruise journeys for the last 14 days and everything went smoothly. However, it is advised that tourists raise their consciousness of danger and avoid demonstrating groups. News of further demonstrations, if any, would be updated on our official website.
We would like to confirm once again that Vietnam is a safe and welcoming destination and we look forward to touring with you.
